Rahmi M. Koç Museum

Located on the northern shore of the Golden Horn, Rahmi M. Koç Museum is spread over three separate areas of approximately 27,000 square kilometers, including the historical lengerhane building and the historical Hasköy shipyard. The museum features an outdoor exhibition area where visitors can view large-scale and durable objects such as submarines, ferries, airplanes, and floating uprights. The privately owned museum also houses the Ataturk Collection, which includes personal belongings from the costumes to official equipment of the Founder of the Republic of Turkey and the first President.

Central Istanbul

Santral Istanbul, the former Silahtarağa Power Plant, hosts a wide range of events such as exhibitions, art and cultural events, educational programs and concerts. Located on the Golden Horn, the structure was the first urban-scale power plant of the Ottoman Empire and provided electricity to the city between 1911 and 1983. The facility also houses the Energy Museum, Turkey's first industrial archeology museum.

Taksim square

Located on the European side of Istanbul, Taksim Square is a large shopping, dining and entertainment district known for its restaurants, shops and hotels. Istanbul Modern

Istanbul Modern (Istanbul Museum of Modern Art) is Turkey's first private museum to organize modern and contemporary art exhibitions. There are permanent and temporary exhibition galleries, a photography gallery, and spaces for educational and social programs. The museum also includes a cinema, restaurant, design store and an extensive library.

SPICE (CORN) MARKET

Consisting of 384 blocks, Spice Bazaar is the second largest and oldest covered bazaar in Istanbul. Built in 1664, the Bazaar is an "L" shaped building with 86 shops and is a part of the Yeni Mosque complex. Inside the building, visitors can find spices, herbal teas, dried fruits, Turkish delight, Turkish coffee, as well as leather and jewellery. There are also restaurants in the Bazaar with views of the Golden Horn and Galata Bridge.

GRAND BAZAAR

The Grand Bazaar is one of the largest covered markets in the world, consisting of more than 58 streets and more than 4,000 shops. The city, which hosts between 250,000 and 400,000 visitors a day, is known for its jewelry, pottery, spice and carpet stores. Its first construction was made between 1455 and 1461 by the order of Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror. The bazaar, which was greatly expanded during the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent in the 16th century, was subjected to a major restoration after the earthquake in 1894.

SULTAN AHMET MOSQUE

Sultan Ahmed Mosque is a historical mosque, also known as the Sultanahmet Mosque, due to the blue tiles decorating its interior walls. It was built between 1609 and 1616 during the reign of Ahmed I. Like many other mosques, this mosque also has the tomb of its founder, a madrasa and a soup kitchen. Sultan Ahmed Mosque has become one of the biggest tourist attractions in Istanbul.

HAGIA SOPHIA

Hagia Sophia is a former patriarchal basilica and mosque that has been reopened as a magnificent museum. The museum, which is especially famous for its huge dome, is considered the symbol of Byzantine architecture. Hagia Sophia was the world's largest cathedral for nearly a thousand years, until the medieval Seville Cathedral was completed in 1520.

Topkapi palace

Topkapi Palace was the official and primary residence of the Ottoman sultans in the city between 1465 and 1853. The palace was once the setting for state ceremonies and royal entertainment, and today it is a major tourist attraction. After the end of the Ottoman Empire in 1921, Topkapı Palace was converted into an imperial period museum by the government decision dated April 3, 1924. The palace is filled with examples of Ottoman architecture and also contains porcelain, robes, weapons, shields, armour, Ottoman miniatures, Islamic calligraphy manuscripts and murals, as well as a large collection of Ottoman treasures and jewellery.

EYÜP REGION & PIERRE LOTİ

Eyüp District, an Ottoman neighborhood, is located outside the historical walls on the Golden Horn. Eyüp, a historical district, is home to many traditional Islamic sites, including the famous Eyüp Sultan Mosque. Many tourists also go up the hill next to Eyüp Sultan Mosque to enjoy the magnificent view and natural beauties of Pierre Loti, which can also be reached by cable car. Pierre Loti, named after the French naval officer and famous novelist who came to Istanbul in 1876, offers a panoramic view of the Golden Horn. Also known as “Lovers Hill” by the locals, visitors can enjoy Turkish coffee or tea at the famous cafe located on the hill.

GIRL'S TOWER

Located on a very small islet, 150-200 meters off the coast of Salacak in the Bosphorus, this beautiful tower is known as one of the most romantic symbols of the city. First built as a lighthouse in the 12th century and rebuilt in the 18th century, the tower served as a watchtower, traffic control center and prison. After restoration, the tower now hosts a popular cafe and restaurant and is considered one of the best places to enjoy Istanbul's magnificent skyline.

DOLMABAHÇE PALACE

Located on the European side of the Bosphorus, Dolmabahçe Palace served as the main administrative center of the Ottoman Empire between 1853 and 1922. It was Istanbul's first European-style palace. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder and first president of Turkey, spent his last years in the palace due to his health deterioration. Atatürk passed away at 9.05 in the morning on November 10, 1938, in a room that currently belongs to the museum.
